MP Shrikant Shinde has expressed his displeasure over getting VIP security treatment amid the agitation demanding Maratha reservation. He expressed his anger toward Thane Police Commissioner by writing a letter

Thane: A Movement is going on for reservation of the Maratha community in the entire Maharashtra including Mumbai. Keeping this in mind, security at the homes of many ministers, MLAs and MPs has been increased. In the same sequence, the security of Shubh Deep Bungalow, the Thane residence of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, has also been increased. Today is the 9th day of fasting of the leader of this movement, Manoj Jarange Patil. During the movement, the houses and offices of many MLAs, ministers and MPs were also vandalized and around. Activists of the Maratha community also attacked and vandalized the convoy of vehicles of many MLAs and MPs.

Opposition leaders made allegations

For the last two days, the road outside Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s house has been completely closed from a security point of view. Due to the closure of the road, there is a massive traffic jam there. Opposition leaders say that the Chief Minister’s family members are being given VIP security. Angered by this, the Chief Minister’s son and MP Dr. Shrikant Shinde vented his anger on the Thane Police Commissioner. At the same time, many opposition parties also started making allegations regarding the problem of traffic jams.MP Shrikant Shinde wrote a letter saying that we do not need VIP treatment. Apart from this, he wrote that the police had not contacted us at all before giving us VIP treatment.
