According to reports, Lalariniana Cello, the Speaker of the Mizoram Legislative Assembly and leader of the Mizo National Front ( MNF), resigned as MLA on Wednesday. With his resignation, Cello said that he would join the Bharatiya Janata Party to initiate development in the state. Let me tell you that the cello, which won the Chalfill seat in the 2018 assembly election, was refused a ticket by the MNF for the assembly election to be held in November next month.

Elections for the 40-member assembly of Mizoram will be in the same phase on 7 November while the counting of votes will take place on 3 December.
What happened in the 2018 elections?
