The very sad news is coming out from the Bengali film industry. Famous Bengali filmmaker and theatre artist Gautam Haldar is no more. Gautam Haldar died of a heart attack in Kolkata on Friday. He was 67 years old. Famous producer Haldar of the Bengali film industry died in a private hospital. Haldar was admitted after he complained of chest pain. Gautam Haldar has passed away at the age of 67. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has also expressed grief over the demise of Gautam Haldar on social media.

Gautam Haldar Chaiti was Ghoshal’s guru
Family friend and actress Chaiti Ghoshal, who acted in Haldar’s ‘Rakta Karaabi’. Paying tribute on social media, he also wrote, ‘Famous film director Gautam Haldar is no more. My deepest respect to you. He was my guru in the world of theatre. He has also shared some pictures with her on Instagram.

Haldar made his first Bengali film ‘Bhalo Theko’ in 2003, in which actress Vidya Balan was seen in the lead role. He also directed ‘Nirvana’ in 2019, in which Rakhi Gulzar played the lead role. Gautam Haldar had directed about 80 stage plays, including most recently Rabindranath Tagore’s ‘Rakta Karaabi’.
