The special session of Parliament has ended and both houses have been adjourned indefinitely. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has stated that the special session of Parliament has been historic.

The special session of Parliament called by the Central Government has come to an end. The special session itself has been historic. Work has started in the new Parliament House in session. Work has been started in the new Parliament House by passing the Women’s Reservation Bill. Now Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has shared the data of the productivity of the session before adjourning the House and expressed happiness.

Historical session

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said on Thursday that four meetings were held in the special session of Parliament which started on 18 September and recorded 132 percent of the total productivity. Birla said that the session would be recorded as a historic session in parliamentary history as the Central Legislature began its journey from a new building in this session. Birla further said that one government bill was introduced during the special session while another was passed.

Discussion on Nari Shakti Vandan Act

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said that the 128th Amendment Bill of the Constitution titled ‘Woman Power Vandan Act‘ introduced on 19 September was discussed for 9 hours and 57 minutes. A total of 60 members including 32 women members participated in the discussion. Along with this, the bill was passed by a two-thirds majority. In addition, discussions on the Constituent Assembly to 75-year parliamentary visit initiated by PM Modi lasted for 6 hours 43 minutes। 36 members participated in this discussion.

Chandrayaan-3 also talks

Om Birla reported that on September 21, 2023, Central Defense Minister Rajnath Singh began discussing the success of the Chandrayaan-3 mission and other achievements of the country in space research. The discussion lasted for 12 hours 25 minutes and 87 members participated in this discussion. The Speaker informed the Lok Sabha members that 120 papers were placed on the floor of the House.
