The team Anti Corruption Bureau has arrested an ED officer and his associate while taking bribes from a person in return for settling the case against him, not confiscating the property and not arresting him
Jaipur: Anti-Corruption Bureau team has caught an Enforcement Directorate (ED) officer taking bribes. The complainant had said in his complaint that ED officer Naval Kishore Meena was demanding a bribe of Rs 17 lakh to settle a case against him. According to reports, an Imphal official and his associate have been arrested red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 15 lakh from the complainant. Officials said that the accused had asked for this amount to save the complainant from arrest.
ED officer was harassing the complainant
The complainant complained that the Office of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) was not able to settle the case against him in the chit fund case registered in Imphal and did not seize the property. The accused enforcement officer Naval Kishore Meena is being harassed by demanding a bribe amount of Rs 17 lakh in return for not arresting him. According to the statement of the Bureau (ACB), among those arrested are the Enforcement Officer (EO) of ED’s Imphal (Manipur) office Naval Kishore Meena and his local associate Babulal Meena.
Accused Naval Kishore hails from Bassi district
After verifying the complaint, the ACB team arrested the accused Naval Kishore Meena alias NK Meena in Jaipur on Thursday, through his associate Babulal Meena alias Dinesh, for taking a bribe amount of Rs 15 lakh from the complainant Arrested. According to this, Naval Kishore is originally a resident of Vimalpura village in the Bassi district of Rajasthan while his associate Babulal is working as a junior assistant in Sub-Registrar Office-Mundawar. The accused arrested in the bribery case are being interrogated further.
