Delhi High Court has given great relief to the Aam Admi Party MP Raghav Chadha. Amid the ongoing dispute over the government bungalow, the High Court quashed that order of the Patiala House court, In which the ban on the emptying of his existing Type-7 government bungalow from MP Raghav Chadha was lifted by the Rajya Sabha Secretariat. After this order, the reaction of MP Raghav Chadha also came to the fore. He described the court’s decision as a victory for truth and justice.

What is the whole matter?

MP Raghav Chadha received a Type-6 bungalow last year. He was later allocated Type-7 accommodation at the request of the MP. However, this allocation was cancelled by the Rajya Sabha Secretariat in the month of March this year. Raghav Chadha went to court against this. The trial court imposed an interim ban on the action of evacuating the house from Raghav. However, the Patiala House Court lifted this moratorium on 6 October. Raghav turned to the High Court against this decision.

What did the court say?

Justice Anup Jairam Bhambhani’s bench secured his order after a lengthy hearing from all parties in the case last week. Chadha’s lawyer said that he was being deliberately targeted, as he is a vocal opposition MP. The court said in its judgment that this moratorium will remain in force until the trial court decides on Chadha’s application for interim relief.

Truth and justice eventually prevailed.” Raghav has welcomed the Delhi High Court’s decision to rescind the order to revoke the order to evict him from his official residence.
