Indians trapped there during the deadly war between Hamas and Israel are being brought to India free of charge under Operation Ajay. Today, the second batch of Indians will leave home from Israel. Close to 18 thousand Indian people live in Israel. The campaign will continue until everyone returns.

India’s Operation Ajay continues amid the ongoing fierce war between Israel and Hamas. Under this, 212 Indian citizens have been brought safely amidst conflict with Israel. Now the second batch of Indian citizens will fly on Friday evening. More than 300 people are likely to be brought back in the second batch. India launched ‘ Operation Ajay ’ on Thursday to return people willing to return home after attacks on Israeli cities by Hamas militants from Gaza on 7 October. Along with this, a helpline number was also issued for Indian citizens to contact the Indian Embassy in Israel.

The Indian Embassy posted on ‘ x ’ (formerly Twitter), that the embassy has emailed registered Indian citizens for the special flight today. Messages will be sent to other registered people for subsequent flights. The first special flight for the return of Indian citizens from Israel left Ben Gurion Airport late Thursday evening carrying 211 adults and one infant and arrived in Delhi on Friday morning. Passengers have been selected on the basis of ‘ first come first served ’ after the campaign launched by the Indian Embassy to register all Indians in the mission’s database and the Government is raising the cost of return.

18 thousand Indians live in Israel

About 18,000 Indian citizens live and work in Israel, including students, IT professionals and diamond merchants. Indian citizens needed to be evacuated after Hamas fighters broke the security fence on Saturday, entering Israel by land, air and sea. More than 1,300 people have died in Israel in the Hamas attack, while more than 1,530 people have died in Gaza in Israel’s counter-airstrikes. Israel has claimed that about 1,500 Hamas militants have been killed inside Israel.
