A total of six matches will be played in the Asia Cup 2023 Super 4 of which the first match will be played between Pakistan and Bangladesh on 6 September Wednesday in Lahore. The Asian Cricket Council has decided to compete against the Asia Cup Super Four on Tuesday and make the final in Colombo itself. Because the weather in the capital of Sri Lanka has indicated better in the coming days. After heavy rains in Colombo there was speculation in the last few days that the Asia Cup Super Four matches and finals could be shifted to Hambanota. According to information received by PTI, now ACC has decided to conduct matches in Colombo only after advice with Sri Lanka Cricket, Pakistan Cricket Board and Official Broadcasters.
Why did broadcasters disagree?
Broadcasters have also cited trouble shifting their equipment and staff to Hambantota in such a short period of time. The SLC named Hambantota as an alternate venue for the five matches and finals of the Asia Cup Super Four Stage. Because there has been a drought in the last few weeks.
