The Legislative Assembly has a total of 90 seats in Chhattisgarh. Of these seats, 10 seats are reserved for SC and 29 seats have been reserved for ST. While the number of general seats is 51. Any party will have to win at least 46 seats to win in this state.

In 2018, in the assembly elections held in Chhattisgarh, the Congress formed the government of Bhupesh Baghel in the state after registering its victory in 68 seats out of 90 seats.
